Now that Pantone has declared Marsala the colour of 2015, I have a feeling that my favourite colour; burgundy, is going to suffer the knock-on effect seeing as it is very similar.
On the one hand, this is cool because the designers and buyers are going to make sure that there is no shortage of the best pieces in this colour family but on the other hand, it might just be way too over-exposed by AW15 and completely put me off. Some may argue that being a blogger strips you of the right to complain about over-exposure because that's exactly what one is feeding into each time you share your looks and style with the world. However, that's a discussion for another day.
This might lead me to giving the colour a break next winter and finding a new winter staple while I wait for the trend to die down. I'm thinking along the green and khaki lines. I've already worn quite a bit of that this season (see here and here) but still, many possibilities abound in really exploring this hue.
Either way, it could be exciting.
