I managed to miss the ticket release of Solange's London shows and as tickets sold out within an hour, I was left without one. Not for long though, as there was no way Solange would perform in London and I would not be there. The show was held at XOYO London- a pretty cosy basement venue in London. The intimacy and cosiness coupled with the fact that only the truest of Solange fans were present at the concert, made it absolutely perfect.
Solo threw us all the way back to 2003 by performing 'Crush' from Solo Star, a few songs from Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams and then her recent EP True. It was phenomenal. She is probably in the top 10 underrated artists worldwide and when this starts to be discovered, I highly doubt that she will be performing in cosy spaces that are not private invation-only concerts.
A lot of fun was had, especially when told us that she wanted us to 'fucking lose our minds and dance!!' when she performed Losing You.
Enjoy my amateur video-making skills, I've been at it since 10am!
