Marrakech, Morocco- November 2015
I'm extremely grateful for 2015. For life, family, friends, health, happiness, peace, amongst other things. The world was so evil this year and we lost so many. To be alive and well with family here I know is just such a huge blessing.
I spent a lot of this year waiting for opportunities. And those were opportunities I needed at the time. But, next year for me is about creating my own opportunities. I'm learning about seasons and reasons. That there's a time for everything and I need to calm my little impatient ambitious ass down. Nevertheless, I really do feel like I could be doing so much more, and next year is all about that.
Efficiency. Not wasting any of my days. Building. Striving. Branding.
I always do a recap of everything that happened in the year. Great things did happen and I learnt so much. Wow. I went searching for answers and I got a lot of them. I haven't personally grown as much as I would like but I'm just so excited for next year that I'm not in a place where I feel like recapping 2015 in the way that I wrote a super inspiring post last year. That was where I was at that point. It's okay to not feel as accomplished as you used to and it's all about making sure the next year is the complete opposite. I'm thankful for the highlights and life-defining moments. For finally landing a job in Fashion and then moving on to my own endeavors; for my trip to California with my mum that changed everything for me; for styling Lagos Fashion Week; for clients who loved the photos I took of them so much that they had them blown up in extra large frames hung up around their wedding hall; for friends who never fail to inspire; for the fact that I realised that anything is possible to achieve by anyone of any age; for you- my readers for being the reason why any of this even exists.
I could say a million thank you's and I still would add one more at the end. So, I'll say a prayer for you too. That you be safe and healthy; that you be happy; that you work extra hard and strive with extra determination; that you reap the rewards of whatever you sow; that your heart knows endless joy; that you're a blessing to those around you; that you don't run out of reasons to smile; that you're excited to get out of bed in the morning especially on Mondays; that the pressure doesn't get too much; that you are not anxious. That you experience true love. True life. And true growth.
Thank you. Love you.
