This post is crazy late considering that it's not even covering last fashion week, but the fashion week before that. But I'd like to believe that it's not redundant seeing as what is really good stays good- I mean we don't always have to rush to consume things as soon as they drop contrary to what the internet has led us to believe. But also, fashion week shows clothes so in advance that these are the clothes that are in stores this season.
These four collections stuck with me through New York fashion week and beyond- Delpozo, Altuzarra, Christian Siriano and Monique Lhuillier. All relatively under-rated designers, maybe apart from Altuzarra, I was completely blown away by each collection.
Let's start with Delpozo. You know how much I love fairytale fashion. Hence, my love for Ulyana Sergeenko and full skirts. It's rather tough to believe that this is ready-to-wear and not couture. Those shapes and silhouettes are everything dreams are made of. My favourite has to be the beaded top with the shorts that could be mistaken for a fan- I'd really love to wear that!
The metallics at Altuzarra make for the perfect sexy but cool look. I'm obsessed with the white long-sleeve top paired with the gold liquid gold skirt. I'm definitely going to recreate this look when my summer body becomes a reality.
Monique Lhuillier offered possibly the most beautiful outfit incorporating a crop top that I've ever seen before. A pink bandeau paired with a contrasting orange full skirt is just the most perfect look. The beautifully cut evening gowns and the dreamy fabrics also left a lasting impression on me.
That yellow outfit by Christian Siriano is the girl I want to be. So is the last outfit with the embroidered crop top and white trousers. Stunning, just stunning!
