Clean cuts, minimalism, luxury knitwear that looks too good to be knitwear, leather soft enough to fall comfortably asleep in- that's the vibe I got from Lucas Nascimento Aw13. It is for that immaculately dressed lady with a serious sense of effortless cool.
The show, held at the Topshop show space had the models gliding past with effortless strides as you took in how perfectly the clean cuts complimented their figures. I initially thought that the Lucas Nascimento aesthetic would really only work for tall girls because of the straight cuts and long lengths. I was happily proven wrong when I along with a few other bloggers met him at the LN-CC store later that evening for a more intimate look into his designs. His assistant- the gorgeous Nora Wong who was probably only a few inches taller than I am was wearing a dress that had earlier debuted at the show.
I'd say that the Lucas Nascimento girl has a classic outlook to fashion with a deep appreciation for pieces that transcend the seasons. And even if like me, she doesn't necessarily have a classic outlook to fashion, every now and then, she likes to escape from all the noise and extravagance and wear a truly classic, perfectly tailored piece.
I appreciate the attention to detail - he uses the softest leather to compliment his clean cuts and what about those backward headbands? I really really liked that.
I'm a fan and I can't wait to see what his creative genius comes up with season after season. This collection succesfully secured his place as 'designer to watch'.
