Night Lights

The way in which this post came about was a mistake. Today I was shooting pictures of an outfit I wore earlier in the week when I noticed a gorgeous sunset. I decided I wanted the sunset to be the background of this outfit which was what I was going to wear today so I ran into my house to get changed. One thing I should have known is that sunset waits for no man. It's here one second and gone the next. I came outside to total darkness and as you might know if you've been following my blog for a while, sunset is my favourite thing about the world. So I wasn't pleased.

However, I decided that the pictures had to be shot so I played around with my camera- aperture, shutter speed and came out with some pretty cool results! I love the pictures where I look like a ghost- thanks to shutter speed manipulation.

This was a fun shoot as it was totally new doing it at night and I had so many people curious as to why I had a tripod and a camera and was taking pictures of myself. I just said I was practicing my photography skills because I felt like they wouldn't understand if I told them I was self-shooting for my blog, it sounds terribly narcisstic and there was something about being alone outside right at that moment that made me not want to be judged. But, maybe fashion blogging is somewhat narcisstic no matter how we sugar-coat it. Never mind though, I love it.

Mirror Me:

H&M Dress (sold out I believe but similar here)

H&M Tights (similar here)

H&M Necklace (in stores now)

Louboutin Super Dombasle platforms (similar here)

Stine Riis for H&M jacket

HB Snapback

P.S I have no idea why Stine Riis for H&M has been kept so quiet, people really don't know  about the collection which I think is a shame because the cuts of her designs are lovely!

I knew you had to have played with the aperture and shutter speed to get those photos. Although, anything is possible these days with Photoshop, but these look authentic! Great Job!!!!
