Odun is wearing Virgo's Lounge Honor Dress
A few months ago, I got an email to the effect of 'I love your blog, your style and aesthetic. I know you don't typically do couple/wedding photography but I love your work and know you can do it, so I want you to do it'. That was how this all came together- I jumped at the opportunity, because that's just what I do. I mean I do photography- but nothing with a couple.
I immediately got to researching locations for a london engagement shoot and planning concepts and it all came together a few saturdays ago. I'm so glad I did it even though it wasn't something I would usually do- lessons in being a 'YES' woman.
Odun and Dapo were the cutest couple. There was a big football match on that day (I can't remember which one) and you know how guys are with their football. He was initially apprehensive about the shoot but he ended up being so comfortable infront of the camera and even suggesting poses to Odun. I absolutely loved this experience, and it totally warmed my heart. I think he initially agreed to do the shoot because he knew how much she wanted it and that it would make her happy but by the end of it, he was a total model! He definitely wasn't too thrilled about holding sunflowers but he went with it anyway. You're both just so adorable. And I'm so glad I got to meet you and share this special moment with you!
Another really really cool thing that happened during this shoot. We came across a Mercedes Benz Mclaren on a quiet street in the city. Dapo was so excited when we saw the car. I knew it was a nice car but didn't realize that it was THAT one where the doors open to the side. Dapo was immediately excited to see the car and admiring it when it beeped- the owner saw us from inside the restaurant where he was eating across the road and smiled at us. At this point, I thought he was just trying to show off by letting us know that it was his car and we shouldn't get too close. And then the most magnificent thing happened. He opened the doors of the car and signaled for them to get into the car and get some pictures in the car. A seemingly small gesture, but one of the biggest acts of kindness that I've ever come across. We were so impressed that he would be so unnecessarily kind to a group of strangers. I thought to myself 'Wow. Kindness, it doesn't cost a thing. Sprinkle that stuff everywhere'.
Sometimes the best experiences are those that we never planned to be a part of! I wish you guys the most beautiful wedding and the most glorious life together. Thank you for sharing your special moment with me.
