THAILAND PHOTO DIARY

I have a wandering soul. For me,  'Home is where the heart is'. It is wherever I travel to that captivates my heart and soul. Where I meet welcoming people, make lasting friendships, eat great food, see stunning landscapes. Thailand is all that and more for me. This was only my second visit but for me, it really felt like 'Home'.

I know the world is a big place and we should constantly explore new countries when the chance arises rather than visiting the same places but honestly, I will go to Thailand over and over again. This is one place where I am happy to travel alone and I do not get lonely. That's an invaluable feeling.

These are just some random photos I shot along the way. I'm missing the days when time wasn't a luxury and I would chase two birds round a garden until I got a photo of them. And the moments when I would watch a monkey drink a carton of orange juice then tear the carton apart.

I made the horrendous mistake of going to watch a Monkey Show on my last day in Phuket. It was a show where they got the monkey to do all sorts of things such as lift weights, play basketball and do sit ups. It was simply awful. I could just see how much pain the monkey was in. I think of monkeys as so similar to human beings and I couldn't help but feel disgusted at myself for patronizing such torture and I just had to walk out mid-show. I'm not even a big animal rights activist- I eat meat, wear leather and all those things. I'm not sure why I didn't feel so guilty at an Elephant show on my previous visit to Thailand- maybe I should have.

  1. Its strange, that Thailand is a place i concluded i would never visit. I’ve heard so many strange and ridiculous things about there and its hard to match those stories to the beautiful elements you captured..

On a different note, you look great. Love the photos
